My goal with this blog and my Youtube Channel is to teach you all of the tips and tricks that you need to know so that you can make everyday a good hair day. But first, let me tell you a little about me and my hairstylist journey!

Behind The Chair

I started off my career in the hair industry all the way back in 2007. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to complete my cosmetology training during my junior and senior year of high school. After several years of working under some amazing hair artists, I decided to take the plunge and go out on my own.

I worked for myself as a studio salon owner and hairstylist from 2014 to 2024, specializing in lived-in hair color. Entrepreneurship was extremely difficult, but equally rewarding. It gave me the flexibility and freedom to work the way I wanted, as well as the ability to cater to my clients needs individually. I quickly realized that I could never go back to working for someone else again, no matter how tough things got.

And boy did they get tough. From 2011 to 2019 I actually moved across the country TWICE. I was forced to start over completely from scratch with my business and clientele each time I moved. This was an extreme challenge, but I never let it hold me back. I used the opportunity to learn new ways of marketing and business so that I could stay afloat in a new city, even through the pandemic.

But after 10 long years of owning a studio, I decided that it was time to transition my career once again. By 2024 my body was suffering from the repetitive abuse I put it through on a daily basis. I knew that if I continued to work on both my blog AND behind the chair, I was headed for a burnout that I don’t think I could have recovered from.

My Blog and Youtube

I started this blog in 2018, mainly as something for my clients to reference on the best tips for caring for their hair. Over time as this blog became successful, I realized my potential reach. It only made sense at this time for me to transition my career to creating haircare content full time.

I now dedicate all of my time to crafting content that I truly hope will help you all reach your hair goals. Your comments mean the world to me, even the constructive criticism. I encourage you to let me know any and all of your questions so I can continue helping you on your hair goal journey!

If you’d like to learn more about me and my personal story, read this post here. I share about some of the struggles that I’ve navigated over the years and how I’ve wound up where l’m at today!
